First Steps

Supporting Nourishment & Stability

Whether you’re facing a short-term need or an ongoing challenge, our client-choice food pantries provide free emergency groceries, from shelf-stable goods to fresh produce and dairy, so our neighbors can access the nourishment they need. Food is donated by community members and managed by a team of volunteers

Eligibility Requirements

  • Neighbor must be a permanent resident of Cary, Morrisville, Apex, Holly Springs, Fuquay-Varina, Willow Spring, New Hill, or Friendship.
  • OR have a child in the home who attends a public K-12 school in the areas listed above.
  • OR is experiencing homelessness or in a temporary location with a most recent permanent address in the service areas listed above.

Monday – Thursday by appointment

Donations are accepted Monday – Friday, 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM.
A 24/7 drop box is located outside the front of the building.

Grocery Store Gift Cards ($25 gift cards to Walmart and Food Lion are most helpful)

All varieties of beans (especially black beans)

A 24/7 drop box is located near the curb on the right-hand side of the plaza before the pantry awning.
