MEET Victor

Victor*, a resident of the Chatham Estates community, faced an uncertain future when notices to vacate were distributed. Rather than move to another mobile home park and risk future displacement, he wanted to explore the possibility of buying a home. Unsure of the process and concerned about his family's stability, Victor turned to NeighborUp for support.

NeighborUp helped him navigate his options and connected him with resources as he worked with his bank and a realtor to purchase a home. Victor invested all of his savings into the purchase but still needed assistance covering closing costs. Through support of NeighborUp and the Stable Homes Cary program, he received the assistance needed to complete the home purchase.

After moving in, Victor and his family had little furniture as their previous furnishings were no longer in good condition. NeighborUp partnered with The Green Chair Project to provide beds and essential furniture, helping turn their new house into a comfortable home.

The family shared their heartfelt gratitude for the guidance and assistance they received during a difficult and vulnerable time.
