Chatham Estates Community Relocation

At NeighborUp, one of our core values is ACTION: we respond boldly and intentionally to our neighbors when they experience hardship and adversity.

In December 2025, residents of Chatham Estates mobile home park were given notice to relocate after the announcement of the property’s sale. As the lead agency for the Town of Cary’s Stable Homes Cary program, NeighborUp worked directly with residents from January to June 2026, providing resources, financial assistance, and coaching as they navigated the relocation process.

Thanks to the Town of Cary’s Stable Homes Program and over $118,000 in donations from our community, families have been able to move their mobile homes, purchase land, secure rental housing, and, in some cases, become homeowners. All families from Chatham Estates have moved; over 80% of the families we served have remained in Wake County, many of them in Cary.
