Who We Are

Mission

As neighbors, we’re called to lift each other up. At NeighborUp, we equip and empower our neighbors in need with basic essentials and valuable skills so they can continue their journey toward success—building a community where every neighbor thrives.

Action

We don’t wait for others to step up—we lead by example. We respond boldly and intentionally to our neighbors when they experience hardship and adversity.

Our Story

In 2025, Dorcas Ministries and Western Wake Crisis Ministry merged, giving rise to a new organization—NeighborUp. A shared legacy and mission to help our neighbors, built on decades of compassion and service to our community, strengthened our ability to serve deeper and broaden our impact. Together, with over 1,300 dedicated volunteers, hundreds of faithful donors, and numerous community partners, we can continue to provide help for today and hope for tomorrow to thousands of neighbors each year.

The staff and Board of Directors continue to evaluate options to increase our client services capacity with our revenue-generating potential and partnerships with local churches and nonprofits. With our founder, Margaret Keller and Antoinette Clark, always in mind, our focus remains on helping clients become self-reliant while addressing immediate crises. We invite you to help us in this endeavor through your financial support, donations to the Thrift Shop, volunteering, and other acts of compassion for our community.
